Among other projects the Nuclear Power Safety Division of KTH, Stockholm, studies the micro-hydrodynamics of boiling heat transfer which is of importance to the efficiency and safety of nuclear power plants. To measure accurately the micro-scale dynamics of liquid films and bubbles on heated surfaces a special TMC vibration isolation table is used to minimize the influence of vibrations.
